Hi there, I've had my CA for about 8 months now and recently I've noticed that the fan is running a bitter faster indicating its hotter than usual.

Its not doing anything just idling there at 0% cpu usage but the fan is quite audible.

I have recently installed Windows 7 again, but I have many times since having the laptop and its not been an issue before.

    It's got the i7 2620m Processor.

I installed a OCZ Vertex 3 6GB SSD and 8GB Corsair 1600mhz but that was awhile ago and the laptop ran cooler with the same gear.

Any one else with any issues like this?

    Thanks
    Oli

That's just me listening to some music and some web browsing.

Something isn't right :/. Battery life isn't great since the re-install either.

I have a strange feeling it may be the doing of some windows updates, I think this time round I installed the optional updates.

    Thanks

Did a complete re install minus the optional updates and it's fixed :D.

So it looks like something in the optional updates messes about with thermal or CPU usage.

    Thanks
