so i had the vaio fz140 for about a week, but i discovered that it had the fan "crashing waves" problem. i returned it and bought the vaio cr120 instead. However, i find that my laptop hard drive "clicks" very loudly, pretty annoying actually. i read in the review that it was also loud in the test unit. does anyone else with the CR have this problem?

I'm not hearing any clicking noises at all.

I hear a slight "clicking" on my unit, but nothing too annoying.

Same here. I hear a clicking noise but that's it.

And mine doesn't even do it all the time.

what about thickness? is it a problem ? i'm talking about the 1.7" height. is it noticeable? For me, that is my major concern.

The clicking sound is a sign of hard drive defect. Return the one you have and get a new one. You have 30 days by law to return a product you are not satisfied with.

I was worried about the thickness too, but when I saw it in person I didn't think it looked chunky at all. -
yea..i guess i do have a defective hard drive. i will exchange it for a new one soon. i must have really bad luck or sony quality control sucks
regarding the size of the laptop, i don't think its as big as its portrayed to be. i think that the shinyness makes you overlook that aspect...lol -
as long as it doesnt look like a dell, its fine. they are technically slimmer... but they do look bulky.
