Hi All,
I bought a Sony Vaio CS VGN-CS36MJ notebook a few days ago. It came pre installed with McAfee anti virus software, which I've never liked. So I bought Kaspersky anti virus and tried to install it on my notebook.
As a first step, I tried to uninstall the existing McAfee antivirus but to no avail. i went to control panel, removed the program, deleted its folder and then tried to install the Kaspersky. While installing Kaspersky, it gave me an error saying that some elements of McAfee are still present, and to please remove them. It did not give me the option of removing them, and I've tried every thing I can or know to try to remove all McAfee stuff from my computer, and despite the antivirus removed/uninstalled, it still won't let me install Kaspersky and I keep getting the same error![]()
Does any one have any idea on what I can do? Kaspersky is the only antivirus software that I trust, and I've had terrible experiences with McAfee so I feel my pc is at a big risk from trojans and viruses.
Any advice/help would be appreciated on how to remove McAfee successfully from my pc.
Thanks a lot!
BR,
Jackal
