I just reformatted my Vaio recently and I thought I installed all the necessary drivers, including Sony Vaio Events and Sony Shared Library. However, I left out a lot of the bloatware so perhaps I am missing something. The FN + volume keys work just fine but I am unable to control my brightness in any way. What should I do? Thanks for the help.

Sony has a particular order also for drivers
    Sony Shared Library
    Notebook Control and Utilities
    Notebook Utilities
Installed in that order and still leaving out the Sony programs (like Vaio Update) should get your function keys working.

Check my sig, should have the step by step of the bare minimum of sony BS.
The driver links are dated though, so hit up sony for those.

Hey guysss...i have a problem here and also a solution!!

    MY PROBLEM:
    please help me...
    :(
i got everything installed on my laptop with windows 8 Pro and no problem yet!!!
everything working fine except one thing.
I have lost my "color mode setting" tab in vaio control center.!!!
so, as a result i'm not able to switch between colour modes and now my desktop is slightly blue tinted!!!
i tweaked all other settings xpct this one!!!
or just give me RGB values to set in Nvidia Control panel to get that soft look(TV mode).
    Please help me.

    MY LAPTOP: Sony VAIO VPCCW15FN
    OS: Windows 8 Pro

    SOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEM:
Install utilities and drivers in the following order and when you come to "Sony Notebook utilities.exe " extract its files(use any extractor...like zip, 7zip, cmd..or uniextract)
and do not install battery checker!!!
