Fixing a CW for a friend but it's not going very well, either I can't find the correct driver or the adapter is dead.

It's a CW1S1Em supposedly it uses Intel for its WiFi, tried this Sony : and for giggles even tried an Atheros driver from a different specced similar model to no avail

Nothing seemingly works, be it making system recoveries, using the Vaio recovery or system restore where it automatically installs the drivers itself and all, the wireless adapter always shows up in the device manager with no driver and seemingly no way to install it.

Found nothing on Google that could imply this was a common issue with this model, can someone help me?
