I have been looking at this 2 new models from Sony and cant seem to decide on which one to buy.

Here's the link to Sony SG website showing the comparison.Note that this are configurations of the notebook for Singapore market as I'm buying there.

    http://www.sony.com.sg/product/Comp...=hp_en_SG_i&models=VPCEB15FG&models=VPCCW25FG

I will list the pros and cons of each model based on my needs and opinion.

    CW
    Pros:Lighter
    LED backlight
    Longer battery life

    Cons:Cost $100 more
    3GB Ram

    E
    Pros:Bigger screen size
    Better video card
    $100 cheaper
    4GB Ram

Cons:No Led backlight(According to the comparison sheet)
    Heavier
    1366 x 768 Low resolution for a 15'
    Shorter battery life

I will be using the notebook for school and at home.I do play games like L4d2 and BFBC2.The ati 5470 on the E series is comparable to what desktop gpu?

Im leaning towards the E series as it is cheaper and has 4gb of ram and better gpu but the screen resolution doesnt look good on paper.I know its a new model but can those who have it give me a review on it?Would also like to know the viewing angles etc.

Lastly how does the laptop construction and build quality compare to other notebooks? Are they at least comparable to the higher end Sony models?

I apologise if this belong in "What notebook should I buy" section.Just wondering if I can get a better feedback from Sony users perspective.

I would say CW. The low resolution is horrible and for L4d2 and BFBC2 the 330m is more than enough to run those games (l4d2 will be maxed out bfbc2 im not sure of, probably medium)

The one in looking at is 310m though. So that resolution on a 14" cw is going to be better than a 15.5" E series ?

Sorry, my bad for not looking at the specs of both.

I actually change my choice to the E series, unless the size is a big issue for you, because between the 310m and the equal resolution to the E series makes it a more mediocer choice.

I have the 310M model for my borther and the 330M for myself and the 310M can run BFBC2 at LOW settings or MED if you have nothing else runing in the background. He has 4GB RAM and an I3.
SO in general the 310M can run BFBC2 just fine on LOW or MED.

I'm in this same battle right now myself.

The E Series doesn't have the 5650 off USA Sony Style, but rather the 5470 512mb. I was worried about games running poorly on that card, but it sounds like if I don't mind playing on Low-Med settings, everything should be fine.

The CW series does have some neat things about it. I don't think I need the full keyboard with num pad. 14" seems the perfect mix between portability and function, and better battery life.
