I was considering buying Vaio CW series with i5 and 330M graphic ($1199) but I was eyeing the new F series with i5 and 310M graphic for $1299. I like how the F series looks and with the larger screen and added numeric keyboard but wasn't sure about the graphic card option. If I want F series with 330M, I have to opt for the i7 version with bluray for $2499which is way out of my budget. (I really ENVY you guys in the US as $1299 would probably get you F series with i7 AND 330M graphics)
And while I was browsing Sony indonesia website, I came across the E-series. 15.5 inchers and numeric keyboard present with strong ATI 5650 1Gb graphics.. this is probably just the answer to my prayer!
But when I look more in depth at the spec, the top of the line E-series only came with i3-330M processors, not available with the i5. Also the top of the line E-series came with money-wasting Blu-Ray drive (I don't know for some reason they charge super premium price for blu-ray drive which is cheap over there in the US).
Pricing of the E-series hasn't been released yet, I was hoping the i3-330M/4Gb/500Gb/ATI 5650 1Gb configuration is close to the CW i5-520M/4Gb/500Gb/nVidia 330M 512Mb price. ($1199)
If the price is the same as the F-series with i5-520M and 310M 512Mb ($1299), is it worth getting?
Some stores also might still have FW55 in stock for $1250ish with C2D P8700/4Gb/500Gb/ATI 4650 512Mb. Is it worth getting this one instead if the E-series was priced higher than the $1250?
Sony Vaio E series or previous FW?
