There seems to be a lot of discussion about the F11's screen, so much so that it's clogging up the Vaio F11's owners lounge (which wasn't exactly a mansion to start out with) and making it hard to find anything.

Here are some of the more recent posts (within the last day or so):

So have at it folks. Everybody seems to have a lot to say about this screen.

In Joe's poll I voted that the screen is average. For the sake of context I had an AW Premium which is arguably the finest screen Sony has ever included in a laptop. I watch TV on a Pioneer Kuro. I am typing this post on a Z890. I try to watch Blu-Ray on the F11 and I can't really because of the terrible job it does rendering blacks and grays. Bright colors look alive and vibrant but most any display can do that. It's the blacks and grays that make a display special imo.

Having said that I'm not looking back. The laptop has a better keyborad than my Z and other positives. But, I wouldn't buy this unit with a Blu-Ray unless I was open to hooking it up to an external monitor. If a friend were to ask me about the F, I'd caution him/her about the screen. Perfectly okay for browsing and work. Not so much for play, imo.
