    Hi,

The link takes you to the sony FE970 Configuration page...where I'm stuck...I'm trying to select my Hard Drive...but the option to view the rpms for the HDD isn't there...just the size of the disk...I'm thinking on selecting a 160GB or 200GB HDD...but I don't know the rpm...and don't wanna get stuck with a 4200rpm...but a 5400 or 7200...any help would be great.

    Ok...thanks...didn't see that option...o_0

    I don't get it...why more GB...slower rpm?

Not sure if I'd ever use 200GB...but I'd think I'd want it just incase I ever decided to use it...

4200 and 5400 is a big difference right? So choosing 120GB...faster HDD...160Gb+...slower HDD

It really depends on what you'll mainly use the notebook for. I know many here will look upon 4200 rpm hard drives with UTTER DISGUST. :D

I have had experience with both 4200 and 5400 rpm drives in my various laptops. I only use my laptops for very simple tasks, such as web browsing, movie watching, word processing, playing emulation, 2D games, etc. I have not noticed any difference between the two drive speeds though I'm sure many will adamantly disagree.

Now if you will be transferring lots of data to/from the hard drive constantly, especially with video editing, at least a 5400 rpm drive is a must. There are 7200 rpm drives but their capacities are pretty limited and are pricy.
