My son (at college) had his 18 month old (now discontinued) Sony FJ270/B notebook ($1200.00 new) fried by a Gatorade spill...is there a comparable new Sony notebook that would be a suitable replacement? Someone mentioned the Vaio VGNNR 160ES 15.4" screen that is on sale at Circuit City for $679.00. This may have alot in the package, but I am concerned about this budget laptop lasting...Any recommendations??

You could look at the FZ, Dell Inspiron 1520, HP DV6500, or any of the other 15 inch notebooks from other companies.
