Its a GeForce 6200 Go (TurboCache)....... but because these new series are on a Sonoma platform, its a PCI-Express card! So theoretically when future Sony FS series come out with more powerful cards like the 6600 or even 6800, I can take it to the factory and upgrade my video card, right?

Or did Intel lie about the upgradability of the PCI-E [8)]

Even if you could, you'd have to make sure it didn't fry your laptop or overheat it.

I don't know if you can upgrade it, for its only a 32 mb dedicated card. The rest is shared. I don't know if that matters, but it could.

I've thought about that possibility, I actually tried to look under the one I saw at Circuit city and it seemed as if there were 2 access points. Guessing one if for ram and the other one for graphics point but they were both screwed shut. Wish someone who actually owns one would post a review.

I'm pretty sure one is for the RAM and the other is for the Hard Drive.

I doubt Sony would make the video card easily accessible. I'm sure you would have to totally dissect the thing to get at it, and I'd bet they probably have it hard wired, knowing Sony.

WTF is the point of Sonoma if nothing is easily upgradable... lol...... luckily I didn't fall for the sales rap and pre-order an FS.

About time somebody researched and then designed plug in USB graphics cards.
