    Hi everyone.

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FW520D notebook and finally hooked up the HDMI out to my HDTV last night. Looks great!

Here's my current home A/V setup:

1 High Definition TV - with 2 HDMI inputs
    1 5.1 A/V receiver (with no HMDI inputs/outputs)
    1 HD PVR
    1 DVD
    5.1 Speakers

    Questions:

    1) Is there a way to force the Vaio to play the audio out through the headphone output, when using the HDMI out? Essentially I want to watch the video through the HDMI out and want the audio out through the headphone output into my A/V Auxiliary input.

When HDMI is initiated, it sends both the video and audio to the TV and automatically cuts out the Vaio sound output through the head phones.

    2) This might be a stupid question, but is there a way to close the Vaio lid while watching a video on your HDTV? When I closed my lid last night, it cut the HDMI out source to the TV.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

Concerning the second question, couldn't you go to power options and set the close lid option to "do nothing?" I haven't tried it, but it might work. good luck!
