Well, I plagued these forums asking for opinions and well, the Vaio finally decided to break on me, I was sitting at my desk typing and I heard a loud snap sound, I looked at the power port area and behold, it was hanging off by a thread, how do these things just break on their own?
So I phoned Sony up (I've got 3 months warranty left!) and I spend hours arguing with them over the phone about them fixing it for free, and they fought long and hard, they basically said give us £270 for a fix or sod off, that is how the forgein woman spoke to me.
So now I'm stuck, I'm using my mom's laptop, what now?

time for a new laptop I guess since nobody has any idea.

First, they don't break with a loud snap all by themselves. Sony knows that and that's why it is not a warranty fix.
Second, if you know how to use a soldering iron you can do the repair yourself. The part is available from Sony and disassembly guides are available here.
