    Hello,

I need to ask you all something about a situation I'm going through.

I have bought the aforementioned laptop from Amazon. However, upon arrival I noticed that on the packaging, there was a SONY sticker placed on top of a previous torn and cut SONY sticker.

This was clearly an indicator that someone had tampered with the box. In addition, the laptop ititself was covered in smudges and fingerprints.

Also there were vouchers from Amazon inside the box. SInce when factory sealed laptops bring publicity like this?

I complained and ordered a replacement. This one arrived today....and surprise surprise...it comes exactly in the same way....same SONY sticker tring to hide a previous cut one...and smudges and fingerprints all over the laptop....

My question is....is this normal and I'm making a fuss? Or is Amazon trying to get away with selling used or refurbished items?

    Many thanks
    Hmartins

Oh. I've never heard of something like this, and, presumably like yourself, view amazon as one of my most trusted online retailers.
This is certainly confusing, but could it be the Amazon depot people opening the box to check that everything that should be in it is in it?
Like if there is an AC adapter missing as opposed to Amazon having to deal with it from you and then back to Sony it could go straight back...
I'm certainly not sure though, ring Amazon customer support and say is the above process what they do.

Thank you very much for your reply.

That would indeed explain the tampering with the boxes.

However, it doesn't explain the smudges and fingerprints all over the screen and chassis of the laptop. I don't think they would need to do that in order to verify that a laptop is indeed inside the box...

I'm pretty sure these are items that have either been used or refurbished.

I would suggest calling or emailing them again and telling them the same problem occurred. Maybe they took the laptop out so they could put their vouchers and everything in?

Maybe the Amazon delivery man really likes VAIOs.
    Like, unhealthily...
