    Hi!

I posted in the "what laptop" area, and after lots of cool people giving me tips and stuff, I have two options... one higher budget, one lower. For the lower, I´m reeeeally interested in the Sony Vaios, specifically the FW and AW. I´m an industrial designer and for the money - looks - performance - service/guarantee I´m liking these two models a lot. My absolute limit is €1300 (I´m in Spain and am looking at the sonystyle.es page).

    I like the FW21J: (€1099)

Hard Drive de 320 GB Serial ATA 5400 rpm
Tarjeta Gráfica ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3650 con aprox. 1400 MB de memoria total y 256 MB de memoria video GDDR3 dedicated

But the specs on the AW11M/H look good too! (€1299)

Tarjeta Gráfica NVIDIA® GeForce® 9300M GT con aprox. 1510 MB de memoria total y 256 MB de memoria video GDDR3 dedicated

I would really like to spend the lesser amount, but I have two questions. Is the 2.26GHz processor a problem with the graphics card and is there much difference between the two to merit the difference in price anyway (€200) I don´t really understand how all the figures after the graphics card affect the actual card´s performance, as well as processor speed and RAM.

Also, one more thing, is it worth spending €290 on an extra 2 years´ guarantee on top of the two provided?

    Thankyou!

I had the same dilemma between the FW11S and AW11S and went for the AW11S because I have a 15.4" vaio already and love the styling and specs of the AW11, particularly the large screen. I am having some "issues" with the quality of the screen (light bleeding), but I may just have a dodgy model. By the way, the UK version of the AW11M comes in a gorgeous dark brown colour-it really is smart. Mine is matte black! The big disadvantage of the AW comes with the size-it's just a bit too big to be really portable, where the FW is just about small enough.

For what it's worth, I think that the ATI 3650 is better than the 9300MGS, particularly in Direct3d apps like 3dsmax 2009.
