I have a FZ4000 and the left touch pad button has not been fully working. The button is slightly wobbly. If I press towards the left side of the button it doesn't work. I have to press at the center of the button. I assume it's because of wear & tear of pressing towards the left over time.

Can the button mechanism be repaired or can I replace the entire touch pad and buttons? I was thinking of buying a used palm rest that includes the touch pad buttons and then just take out the touch pad and button part to replace on my machine. Is that an alternative?

    thanks

You can do that, but I will be just as easy (or hard) to just drop the used palm rest in place. There are some disassembly diagrams here in another thread. Use the serach and you should be able to find them readily. They include photos.
