reload the camera driver from esupport?
if that doesn't work try reloading the vaio camera utility and vaio camera capture utility from the vaio recovery wizard

You may want to try disabling the VAIO Camera Utility that starts up with Windows using msconfig. I've read that it can cause problems when other software tries to use the Camera.

I was testing the web camera on Skype today and it worked, but then while testing it on Windows Live, it said that the camera was in use. I went into the task manager and the VAIO Camera Capture Utility was still running. That solved the problem.
