harsh indeed, though i never figured it to be a powerhouse anyways. maybe i just view it as a "cheap" way read/burn blu-ray.

While I don't generally like Sony laptops.I must admit the TrustedReviews does not give good notebook reviews [at least] sometimes.Look at their F3Jp review, they gave it 8/10 for all area's.

Its more accurate than Cnet at least, which is nice. I guess we will still have to reserve judgment until we get a review here, but I must say, usually all reviews not done by former reviewers are overwhelmingly positive.

hm i don't think i'd expect the FZ to garner good reviews since cheap and sony must mean bad quality. When I saw it at bestbuy, it was very light, but the brushed silver and the overall ruggedness of the laptop was very flimsy and forward heavy. The screen was good, but I guess until Sony starts shipping it out with Hi-Color screens, the Eco just isn't good enough. I must say though, the keyboard on the FZ sucks... A lot, i went around bestbuy and checked out every single sony keyboard and the FZ is one of the worst. it's not that it's flat or anything, it's that the keys felt soft and impotent, there is no real feedback when pressing down on them. THe problem with that is that your fingers end up sliding around instead of typing around because the keys don't spring back like you're used to. I suppose you can also get use to this, but, for people who prefer otherwise, that's just my two cents.

This review is a rude shock. I expected the FZ to be the most popular mainstream notebook amongst the Santa Rosa machines, displacing HP from the top.
The initial hype had given such an impression.

I didn't think that it would get good reviews.
Basically the only thing new is the FSB. Maybe the person doing the review was expecting huge perfomance gains. I don't know where he/she got the review unit from but lt looks like all the FZ models still ship with 533 ram. I don't understand why sony does not use faster ram or at least let us configure it as an option. It defeats the purpose of having the Santa Rosa platform.

No offense. But who do we believe? The customer support rep or the
web site? Web site shows pre-configured units with 667, customizable with
    533.

I ordered a FZ190 CTO and it comes with 667 mhz (pc5300). I called sony support and they said that all FZ models comes with 667 mhz ram.

They changed the webpage back to 667Mhz, perhaps this'll end the confusion.

If you guys notice this review is for the UK Laptop isn't it? it says it has no bluetooth. It does have Bluetooth and is a lot better than this reviewer says it is because face it the UK gets ****ty laptops, it even says it doesn't have wireless n technology, which it does. The FZ is probably one of the best multimedia laptops out there for the price, though yeah the battery life sucks you could always buy the bigger battery and you can also buy a slim power charger to lessen the carrying weight. SonyStyle.com is the best place to find out what the FZ laptop actually has since it is their laptop. I was looking at the Sony Vaio FZ190 (btw.)
