Iam getting the below message when i switch on.

check to be sure you have adequate diskspace. if a driver is identified in the stop message.
disable the driverof checkwith the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adaptors
check with your hardware vendor for any bios updates. Disable bias memory option such
as catching or shadowing. if u need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart
press f8 to select advanced start up option and than select safe mode.

Myfriend formated the laptop without using the sony recovery cd. Is that causing a problem?
and also my cd drive was not working and its not harware problem also
Please let me know the how to format using the pendrive or any alternative solution.
