    Dear Members,

I have a Sony Vaio VGN nw230G Laptop, the right hinge
separated from the case and is now extremely loose, putting pressure
on the Bezel which is beginning to crack.

The problem is underneath the "metal Hinge" there are several gold metal
Inserts. The Hinge is secured to these gold metal Inserts by "screws" which
go into the metal hinge and then into the hole in the metal inserts.

These metal inserts which are gold color, separated from the case, possibly
from opening and closing the lid. After calling Sony Parts, they told us
that these "gold Inserts" are NOT sold separately and are actually part of
the case. Holes for these "gold metal inserts" are pre drilled at the factory,
and they are put into these holes. However, in our case, these metal
inserts have pulled away from the bottom of the hinge, making the hinge loose. Is there any solution to this problem, now that we cannot
buy these "gold metal inserts" sepaerately. The price for the entire part
that the metal insert goes into , is very pricey. Does anyone have any
ideas where we can buy these small anchors, or metal inserts, which the
screw screw into ? Thankyou very much.

    Rick
