Hello all. I am seriously considering purchasing this laptop. I have read reviews concerning a constant high pitched "buzzing" noise on this model. Can some one enlilghten me about this and is it really an issue? Thanks in advance! Bob

For me, it's only a minor issue and if you have enough money, you can upgrade HDD to SDD.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the quick response! Hey, what HDD vs SDD? And how much to replace it? -

HDD stands for Hard Disk Drive and SSD stands for Solid State Drive. The former has spinning disks inside called platters that store data, and the latter uses memory chips (usually MLC) for storage hence the no moving parts. Chances are, if you don't already know what an SSD is, you're not expecting extreme performance from your storage device. An SSD will considerably speed up boot times and program launch times, but at the prices that SSD's are per GB, for me they're cost prohibitive. For instance, an Intel X25m 160GB SSD is $450 USD, and for me thats WAYYYY to much money, when my regular platter based HDD is more than good enough speed wise and at 500GB capacity, it's perfect for me... But it's all up to how much you value that extra bump in speed.
