    Sony Vaio Laptop blank screen after logo

    Hi, i have a refurbished Sony Vaio PCG-71312L laptop with Windows 7. After powering on the logo shows and just goes to a blank screen with the cursor blinking. When i type the keyboard does nothing. I also cannot boot into the bios or safe mode. Any help please?

    This is a VPC-EB btw (the PCG-71312L model number is more internal for Sony, the series is the VPCEB which should be found on the bottom left of the screen bezel)

    Uhh... sounds like a corrupt/dead hard drive. The logo (the one that shows VAIO) is BIOS. Uhh... i don't know how the EB series BIOS is, but try mashing F2 or F8 buttons (maybe F12?). There should be some hard drive diagnostics in there... (hopefully)

    i did take the hdd out and connect it to another PC, it showed up and looked to be ok. I reseated the ram also....when i mash the buttons it doesn't do anything. what else can i do, after the logo, it just shows black screen with blinking cursor, but when i type it does nothing.

    I think you must reflash you BIOS if you have a US/Asia model you could find on the site.
    PS: try to put something bootable inside like hiren boot cd and see if it works,if does with the bootable CD/DVD/Stick you will be able to repair your VAIO.Waiting to replay your result ;)
