I have two very quick questions - I am in the middle of making a deal with a prospective seller of a brand new, unopened Sony Vaio N250E/W. She won it in a contest so I am pretty sure it would not be possible to recieve a purchase receipt (Ie: a warranty).
She is willing to sell for $650...I think I could probably bargain for $600.
1. Is this a good deal?
2. I am completely unfamiliar with installing memory in laptops. Ideally, I would be removing one of the 512 mb from the slot and replacing it with a 1 GB. Is it easy to do with the VAIO or would I have to hire someone? Would I just be buying a regular DDR2 memory?
Thanks in advance!

The standard N250E/W comes with 1GB ram. Why is hers only 512MB?

The computer has 2 ram slots. You will need DDR2 PC-5300 SODIMM type memory. I assume your reference to regular is to regular desktop DDR2 memory and the answer is no, desktop DDR2 ram will not fit into a DDR2 notebook.

Yes - it comes with 1GB. But I want more memory and am just wondering on the difficulty of installing it on my own?
