Does anyone know if Sony is replacing the NW series? If so, with what? I have one on order and it appears to be backordered (or completely unavailable - can't get a clear answer from the retailer). I've been looking around at other places and it seems to be in short supply right now. Thanks.

Hm that would be weird, they just came out...
If they are not available maybe they are just going to upgrade the nw series with the newest i-processors? -
There is supposed to be a replacement for the NW with an N and for the AW with an A

They actually just changed the base configuration (new model #, bigger hard drive) of the NW available on the Sony Style website. Really not much different than the two previous configs they offered but changed nonetheless. I was hoping that they would have done a better refresh after CES but no such luck. Actually ordered a configurable NW from eBay which is great (P8700 2.53Ghz, 500GB 7200RPM, 4GB DDR2, Blu-Ray).

yeah NW series are totally sold out every retail store here in Australia too. Some sales people telling me that the model is discontinued...
shame coz the model seemed quite new with windows 7 versions only recently replacing the windows vista versions... and then suddenly poof... vanished into thin air....
I just hope that the new N model will have the same sleek look of the NW ... the touch and feel of the NW seems very nice. infact i hope N model is exactly the same.. but with under the hood improvements only like CPU etc -
I was just about to pull the trigger on the NW series, but it bothered me that the processor was a little stale and that it didn't have bluetooth. So I'm very glad they're probably refreshing the NW, but I sure hope they keep a similar look and pricing!
