    Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum and hope I'm posting in the right section. (Couldn't find a repair section)

I've tried super searching, to no avail. I've found some information, but basically I'm looking for a part number and some instructions of how to replace the power jack.

The laptop was plugged in and charging, when it fell and landed on the plug that was plugged into the power jack. Now the computer won't charge and the plug doesn't stay in place like it used to.

I can't find a list of part numbers or service manuals anywhere. The computer is VPCEB17FX. I'm pretty mechanically inclined (though I typically work on cars ;) ) so I can tackle this project...if someone could just lead me in the right direction.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, guys.

EDIT: Found on one website that had the power jacks for almost $70 (with harness) but it was out of stock. Now, I did some research comparing their reference numbers and almost half the Sony Vaio's use the same jack (according to their system). So I found this osCommerce from a close model, that was of course referencing the same on the other website. So hopefully it's the same.

    Anyone?

I know I'm not the only one to ever take this computer apart...
