Has anyone had experience with VAIO Z Series and UPS System?

Well the reality is there isn't too much concern regarding UPS quality due to it being a laptop. However, on the Z2, when power fails with the PMD connected, it hard locks the machine (bummer). So I do use a UPS...a cheap UPS....no issues at all.

Well I'm fresh out of tin foil hats.
Our power at the office drops all the time (at least 1x/week) and brownouts several times per week. Cheapie ups switches to battery power just fine, and I can continue to work.
Again, laptops are designed to immediately switch to battery when the power fails, so even if the UPS is crummy, or switches slowly, it really doesn't matter.
Z2's are a different story, as when power gets cut, the loss of PMD hard locks the unit. But, again, no issues with cheapy UPS.
And we aren't dealing with complex power supplies that have multiple rails and precision outputs like desktop/workstation users are.
