Hey guys, I've looked all over the internet for this problem, but only to run into dead threads that have no answer.

My Sony Vaio Pro 13 has developed several screen blemishes from regular use. Pictures and a more detailed discussion can be found here [1] .

As mentioned in the album, the screen is very unsightly and these blemishes really do affect my viewing experience. Has anyone had any display problems that share common traits with the one I'm having right now?

Pressure mark from contact with the keyboard when the lid is closed and maybe pressed down a little while carrying? This is somewhat scary. They should have recommended keeping a soft cloth liner between the keyboard and the screen. Also, maybe a hard carrying case.

DO NOT try to rub these marks away - they are probably micro fractures in one of the several glass layers that make up the screen. Applying pressure to them will cause these to spread and turn into the dreaded ink splotch.

I am using a hard carrying case already, but your hypothesis sounds extremely plausible. I constantly have to wipe away the dust markings from the keyboard on the screen. So looks like I'll have to send it in? Anyone had any experience with Sony's Warranty quality?

Okay new updates on this issue. A friend noticed that the spots appear to directly correlate with the "VAIO" logo on the back of the screen. You can actually make out the logo from the screen side now. Will post pictures later. Sony has honored their warranty and is repairing the screen free of charge. If anyone else has this problem please post here as well.

I have this exact issue where I notice the blemishes take the shape of the "VAIO" logo on the lid. I'm not sure what I should do as I bought the laptop refurbished through ebay and only got a 90 warranty which has long been up.
