This is my first post on the forum and I look forward to any positive feedback that forum users can provide. I recently purchased a Sony Vaio Pro 13 SVP13215CDB model here in Canada and am getting very poor transfer rates (200kps - 400kps) between the Vaio and a USB hard drive attached to my wireless router. I've documented the specs of each component below to the best of my knowledge and was hoping someone may be able to point out a possible issue or configuration tip.

I currently have Bell Aliant FibeOP and consistently get 40+ MBPS downloading from the internet via the ASUS 5G "bridged" through the Bell Aliant router (ActionTec R1000H). By bridged, I mean that I followed the Bell Support advice to connect the ASUS router WAN port to port4 on the ActionTec router. All devices in the house now use the ASUS 2.4 or 5 wireless networks and the Actiontec's "non wireless TV" wireless network is unused.

I have tested both ASUS networks when the kids are asleep (limited network activity) and it takes an hour to copy a 1 GB file from the laptop to a folder on the USB drive when I am sitting 5 feet from the ASUS router/hard drive. I have updated to the latest BIOS and wireless drivers on the laptop and updated the ASUS firmware. Any assistance would be appreciated and I will try to reply with requested information in a timely manner.

    Thanks,

    Jeff
