    Hi,

I lost my recovery cd's of my vaio, it's about 2 months old. :(

Now i still have the hidden recovery partition, so i can make the recovery cd's, my only problem is i don't have the Vaio recovery tools anymore. (They are on the recovery cd's or installed on the laptop, but since i did a clean install they are lost.)

Can anyone help me out / send me a copy from your cd or laptop? I searched the sony website for hours, whithout any luck.

    Thanks

during startup you'll see the vaio logo. once you see the logo press F10 and you'll be given a couple of options. one is to create recovery disks. be sure to read carefully before choosing kuz other options allow you to reboot back to factory specs while whiping your hd

    Hi,

it's a vgn-fe31m. But those files are independent of the model. I've already tried F10 that gives an error while loading that some files of the recovery utility can't be found, while i never touched that partition. All i need are the VAIO Recovery tools so i can create the cd's in windows. (the sony images and application packs are on the hidden partition)

    Thanks

I want to know something about the Sony Vaio Reovery CDs. If I burn out the cds...will I be able to choose just to install Windows and not the other junk?

I do not know the exact procedure, but i know for sure you will be able to not install all the "extra" vaio stuff. I read in several forums that when step 3 of installation begins is when the junk is installed so you just have to click cancel and you will automatically skip that step.

    Hello fellaz!

I've Vaio VGN-FZ21E, which OS I've successfully erased and now I'm stuck, because F10 is not working. I've read a lot of stuff how to recover the computer without CDs, but it looks like there's no possible way :(

    Any ideas?

Found a solution - erased all partitions without the rescue one and did "fdisk /mbr" using win98 cd (god bless the pirate in me!!!), then the autorecovering mechanism auto-started. :)

    Cheers!
