I just wondered if there is a way to activate the hidden bios options like with the Z bios? It's the same bios-manufactor so maybe someone has an idea on how to do it?

I remember with my HP envy there was some way to press "A" and the Function key to enter advanced....perhaps some combination of keys would work?

You might be able to just do the same bios hack. Others in that thread were using the aame procedure on other laptops.

Probably a stupid question: has anyone tried playing around with the thermal setting(s) in the unlocked BIOS? It shows speedup thresholds, max values etc. I guess this doesn't work?

No I didn't. But as the speed values are the same with the 1031 and the 2084 bios I assume that the speed is controlled differently somehow.
