    While browsing the Sony Outlet (store.sony.com), I found this:

    CLEARANCE - Customize VPCSA290X Series Laptop

    Model Number: VPCSA290X CTO
    Color: Black
    In stock. Estimated ship date: 07/05/2011.

    $ 1,444 .99 - 15% Coupon Code = $ 1228

    ...which seems like a reasonable deal, but, oddly, the specs make no mention of the AMD Radeon HD 6630M hybrid graphics, as is mentioned on all the other ones in the outlet.

    Other specs: Processor : Intel® Core™ i5 2520M, etc.

    So... is this an error/omission in the add, or are there versions of the SA without discrete graphics???

    :confused:

    I would highly doubt that Sony produced a SA without discrete graphics. It is more than likely an issue with the description. The model number is the same as the true CTO SA model so I wouldn't worry about it.

    All models of the SA has the 6630 GPU.

    @Brianho1337: I'd PM you, but I can't because I don't have enough posts or something... anyway, just wondering what you mean in your tag by "Vaio Z, ... 1920x1080 (Still good)" ...do those super hi-res screens have a tendency to fail? I've actually been considering some used ones with that screen recently, it would be good to know...

    Thanks!

    I was referring to the laptop as being good in general, not just the screen :) High res screens do not have a tendency to fail but the Z's screen in particular has quite a few accounts of having dead pixels and cracked LCDs. Nevertheless, I still haven't encountered any problems with mine.
