This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Sony Vaio SB/SA/S? microphone

    I have a Sony Vaio SB
    i5-2520
    4GB
    500HDD 5400rpm
    ATI 6470m (512mb)

    When I switch on to the speed tab and play a game, the fan kicks in.
    The fan noise interferes with my speech.
    Users on the other end say that it sounds like a vacuum is playing in the background.
    Is this an issue for anyone else?
    Is there a program I could download to filter out background noise?

    I already updated my bios
    Currently I have to use a noise canceling external microphone/headset.
