So I did a clean install using the instructions in the owners lounge however I used a Dell Restore disk (Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, doesn't add any other software) and did not install VAIO Care and VAIO Smart Network. So I want to play a blu ray, however I don't have any software to play it. Is it possible to get the the blu ray player software back w/o using the recovery disks to install all of the software (The computer came with bestbuy bloatware, I don't want it back).

What kind of software did you have, I'm asuming it's cyberlink PowerDVD that you had installed? The only thing I can recomend is that you download the software from cyberlink and enter the product key.(Hopefully you have it noted down somewhere!)

My Z came with CorelWin DVD and I wouldn't be surprised if that's what you have too. Unfortunately it's not easy to find the product key for the software that comes with the computer. Other users have the same issue with the bundled Adobe software...

Basically, it's not as easy as it should be!

I don't remember which software it came with and even if I did I don't have any product code. So... does this mean I'm screwed in terms of playing blu ray again? Is there some alternative free software that plays Blu Ray

Thanks CUDA but I found out how to get PowerDVD back without installing all the software. I just ran the recovery software and installed the VAIO Care. After I installed VAIO Care I chose recovery then recover software. It allows you to select the software you want to recover. Thanks anyways, I'll be sure to bookmark that page
