Which colors do you prefer and why?

I am personally looking forward to the silver/white keyboard combo as tehguardian posted some nice pics before. It reminds me of the fujitsu color schemes, which I shudder to think about since the last one I owned had horrible build quality, but the colors look nice with the spaced out keys and no big black bar serving as a bezel above the keyboard.

The silver/black keyboard option would be my least favorite as it looks like 99% of the laptops out there, especially the cheap consumer ones. I've seen Toshiba, Gateway, Gigabyte, Asus, and a billion others with the exact same scheme.

The black/black keyboard doesn't look too bad based on higher resolution pictures, but if seen from those taken by newegg or someone's ghetto cellphone camera, it gives off that thinkpad-esque texture which I sorely dislike and I definitely like some contrast between the laptop body and the keyboard, but the aluminum plate around the keys may just be enough to set it apart. This color combo is the only one available for direct order right now, not to mention the cheapest, but it's the only obstacle right now between me and a new laptop, but I am a bit hesitant...

I would go for the pink if I wasn't afraid of being called a FLAAAAMMMMIIINNN' homosexual at my school (I'm not XD) - I tend to like colors/styles that stand out, which is why I would SOO go for Sangria Red if they had it for the SR.

But as it stands, I'm going black-black I think.

Black/black for me. I have it sitting in front of me and it's a good combination. BTW, it isn't a true black like a Thinkpad. The keyboard/palmrest area is more of a dark gray with the keyboard being slightly darker than the palmrest. The base of the machine is black.

Silver looks pretty bad in the photos, the black looks much more professional

Not that kind of blue. And I've seen the laptop in person. It doesn't really appeal to me. Kind of cheap looking...

I was thinking of the pink version, not solid but in a darker blue.

Black/Black and Silver/Black are good for me (I have the black one). The pink one is ugly, and even if I was a girl, I don't think i'd get one. The glossy silver is also not so hot for me, looks unprofessional, it just reeks of the CR and it's massive attempt to appeal HS and college student buyers (well, that's how I see it).

As a female college student ... I kinda like the glossy silver option just looking at the Sony website.

    Yeah, I said it! :p

I don't need my laptop to screen 'business' and 'professional'. I want to use it in class, at places when studying, on little trips ... I would love to have one that stood out. I'd prefer to avoid black, silver, and white - but I am strongly leaning towards the new Z and maybe SR, so I see I'll be stuck with black or silver. :p (At least in black I think the Z is unique and sleek enough to still have a slightly different look ... though I do wish the lid were more interesting.)

I kinda grew to love the "crimson red" M1330 except it really warranted return. I wish the new Sony's were offered in a great red or something - that's really appeal to me. Something less cheesy than light pink, but something more fun than silver. And I wish they did something a little more interesting on the Z ... like the discussion about the weaved premium carbon fiber look - I admit it'd be pretty on the Z and I'd love that. :p
