This concerns the Sony Vaio SR 290c model.

Recently I deleted the "hidden" partition that was used to store recovery files. However, after I formatted the drive, it has not showed up in "my computers." I was wondering if anyone could advice me on how to basically make the hidden partition become visible on my computer.

    Thanks.

No... I think I formatted it. It doesn't show. Can someone tell me how to "delete" the partition? For some reason when I tried windows 7 installation disk to delete the partition it could not do so.
--> I am positive that the partition has been formatted and is all free space.

I formatted the partition because I needed the space badly. Is there anyone that can help me on this issue? I really need to use the 10gb of free space.

It is still marked as hidden even after you format it.

Delete the partition instead of formating it. Then it will show up as unallocated space in the Disk Management utility. At that point you can then create a new partition, format it and it will show up in the OS. But be aware that because this partition is usually the first partition on most Sony models, you will NOT be able to just add this space to an existing partition. You could move things around, with the proper utility to get this unallocated space contiguous with another partition and then extend that partition into the unallocated space. But doing so will, at first, make your OS unbootable. You will need a tool or a Vista install disk, to fix this and make the OS bootable again. It is an EASY fix, but scary as all hell if you don't anticipate it coming.
