Hi,
I purchased the mentioned Sony Vaio laptop after my other laptop became damaged in a car crash.
I had high hopes for the device however I'm frustrated to find I am unable to uninstall the original Operating System (Windows 7 Home Edition) to a retail version of Windows 7 Ultimate, or any other OS of my choosing for that matter.
The HDD/SSD combo does not show up in the list of devices during the installation process, I'm assuming this is down to a locked down BIOS of which I've seen numerous threads talk about 'hacking' it.
Is unlocking my BIOS the only way of installing my retail media or are other options available?
Many thanks
Liam.
