Hi, I have just experienced a very strange problem with my drivers. I am using Vista Business edition, 32-bit and my processor was originally listed at "Intel Core Duo T7400 2.16Ghz". However, I saw that there were two of the same listings, so I made the "smart" decision of uninstalling it. Upon restart, Windows automatically recognized the same device, but used the drivers located in my WINDOWS/system32 folder and installed it as "Intel Core Duo T7200 2.00Ghz". Could anybody direct me in the right direction to where I could get the drivers for the former processor listing? It may not be available to the public, as I could not find it as much as I Googled, but any help is much appreciated.

This leads me to a second thing. The problematic webcam. Before, after installing the hotfix from Microsoft and other updates from the Sony site, it worked. However, like the processor, the same thing happened, showing two of the same driver. So I uninstalled both, and now the webcam doesn't work. But now, trying to install the hotfix, it just gives me the error: "The update does not apply to your system." I have a feeling this is directly related to the processor's driver, and I will be eternally grateful to anyone who can help. Thanks so much.

Edit: I figured out that the reason I couldn't re-install the hotfix was because it was already installed. I tried uninstalling then reinstalling again but that was pointless. Please help.

Edit 2: Well, after a full recovery (and it not working even after that) and some wishful thinking, it somehow fixed itself after I left it on standby. I am one of the happiest people on the planet now. But there's still a knot in my stomach about the processor's driver. Thanks.

Could anyone tell me if the drivers would affect the maximum performance of my processor at all? Not that .16 would make that much of a difference...but you know, I want to get the most out of my money. Thanks.

on a core duo, it is normal to see 2 processors being listed in the device manager, because the core duo processor actually has two processor built into it.

so far i don't see any option other than to do a re-install of the os.
