I've been reviewing laptops for about a week and so far, the SZ has the best specs for its size.

There's one thing I haven't managed to find out about though. Has anyone successfully been able to connect their SZ's with their TV/plasma? I plan to be using my plasma with a bluetooth mouse+keyboard whenever I'm home and I'd like to know how to do so and whether or not it affects the quality?

You will get the best quality using VGA/DVI output on the SZ to the plasma (if your TV has either/both of these inputs). When using either of these inputs, you should be able to output the optimal resolution that your TV supports, probably 1366x768 or around there.

Otherwise... it'll be ugly. You won't be able to read the text clearly using vga/S-video converter.

The VGA-S video adapter I tried wouldn't be picked up by the built in software on my SZ2VP....

I agree with outie's comments that even if this were possible via s-vid, the quality wouldn't be good enough. Luckily most plasmas have a DVI/VGA port which would result in decent quality.

The SZ only has a VGA out on the side, to get DVI you'll need to fork out again for the docking station.

Why they didn't put an s-vid socket still bugs me immensely......... £1800 laptop with substandard features...!

It depent on the TV. If I hooked SZ to 42" TOSHIBA 1080P 1920x1080 LCD via VGA connection it can run only 1028x768.
