I have a Sony Vaio SA laptop with 1600x900 non glossy screen.

    Screen Hardware ID : SNY06FA

I have this weird problem with jagged window borders and straight lines on Windows 7. Basically if a window is not moving it looks fine. If you start dragging a window slowly vertically these jagged lines appear on all the horizontal lines in the window and the borders (Only the horizontal lines). If you drag horizontally the window then all the vertical lines in the window become jagged.

So dragging windows across horizontally all the vertical lines become jagged until you stop dragging.
And dragging windows up and down vertically all the horizontal lines become jagged until you stop dragging.

Is it meant to be like this? Or is there a problem with the screen, does anyone else have this problem on the same 1600x900 screen.

I am on a clean windows 7 vaio recovery image with all the default stuff installed.

Even if someone can confirm if it happens with them or not on there sony laptop that would be good :)

it's normal :) mine does it too. it's a "feature" of the displays SONY has used in the S series laptops.
