I dusted off this microcomputer and realized I hadn't used it in almost 2 years. I'm trying to get it as up to date as possible. I've found very little information on it and there's no thread for it in the owner's lounge, so I'm assuming there are few who own one of these.

It's a great computer but has a 20 GB hard drive and 1 GB of ram

Does anyone know if there is ram available to upgrade it? At the time I purchased it, it couldn't be upgraded past 1 Gb and I'm assuming this was a size issue. The same may hold true for the hard drive. Does anyone know if the drive can be swapped out?

technically this is not a laptop, but I also own a TT and the information found here has been incredibly useful.

I don't know if you've come across micro pc talk forums before but it really is a wealth of information for the UX series.

Thanks! I had not run across that. All my searching either lead to old, dead information, reviews or where to buy. Guess my Googlefu is not what it should be

I had looked up these when I was looking for a good Tablet PC. The HDD can be upgraded, many have swamped them out for SSDs. The RAM is soldered on I beleive, but some have managed to do upgrades. Look on engadget, there was an article about a guy that loaded multiple OSs onto the UX...windows 7, Apple OS, maybe even Meego or Android. Either way, once you find that guys name, you can find the forum he uses, as he was helping users upgrade their UX's RAM and various other components.

EDIT: Here's the engadget article.... http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/23/sony-vaio-ux-handheld-gets-3g-wireless-quad-os-inflated-sense/ Click on their UMPC source for details.
