Hello,
I have artifacts all over my Vaio's screen. I plugged it into an external monitor, and it looks the same (vertical lines, etc). I am guessing it's an issue with the video chip/mainboard.
While disassembling the laptop, I managed to sever the cable connecting the touchpad to the mainboard (yes, I know I'm an idiot, but save the comments, please). Do any of you know where I could find another cable? It looks like it should cost....$0.02 to make, but I doubt it'll be that cheap to buy, if I can find it ANYWHERE.
Taking it apart, it looks like the part number is p/n 08-20se6621B, but that is probably for the whole touchpad.
Again, any sources for this part?
Also, is there any way of fixing the video? I know it's a long shot, but buying a new mainboard (again, if i can find one) will be quite expensive.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, did you manage to find a replacement cable for the mousepad?
I opened up my sony and the cable had already split on its own.
I tried looking everywhere for this cable, but cant find anyone who has one. I am willing to pay quite abit to anyone who can get one for me.
cheers,
Andy
