Hi, My sony vaio fan has started the loud noises program so I am looking to replace it. Because I brought this in New Zealand without any international warranty I don't think I can get it fixed for free anywhere else in the world (in Germany). How do I find the part number for the fan. I know I can open the case and look but I have read that CS fans are faulty and that a new model has been made. How do I go about finding out this?

I am aware that the recall only applies if you take it to the service centre in the country of purchase.
In your case, you'll need to take it to Khyber Pass in Auckland (Sony Solutions Service Centre). It seems Sony isn't keen on changing out fans for laptops from different countries. You can ask Sony Germany just in case; they may be kind enough to replace it free of charge ^_^

Parts, I was going to ask TradeTech (New Zealand) for my personal modifications, but they are currently relocating to South Auckland. You can email them asking with a PART NUMBER (not a model number). If you phone Sony NZ, choose their parts-line, and ask for the part number, they will comply. Though you have to be model specific.

I wanted to ask for a bluray part number and had to state my Z26 was infact a Z27. If not, they won't tell you...
