Hi, I'm new to this forum and have tried searching for my problem but didn't seem to get any information about it.

My problem: My laptop battery has stopped working sometime last year and I have been stuck using my laptop through the power cord ever since. When I click on my power meter down in my taskbar, it says my battery is "not present", but it is plugged in and everything. Idk how to go about this. Not sure if I just need to buy a new battery or what? I don't wanna just go ahead and get a new battery, because if that's not the problem, I don't wanna just waste money. Any help would be highly appreciated! :)

You mentioned that the battery has stopped working for a while. I would replace it first and then go from there.

    cheers ...

Have you tried to see if you can find someone else with the same model and check with their battery? That might clear up a few things.

sounds like a battery issue...they don't last forever...if you do buy a new battery, resist the temptation to buy a cheap 3rd replacement - they can cause some serious damage...
