So I have a legit windows install disk and a fresh key, only downside is i can't actually get it to install.

The error I encounter is 'the required driver for cd/dvd is missing. Please insert media containing driver.'

so i find the drivers on sony's website, put them on a flashcard and connect it to my computer. But wait, they won't install that early in a fresh windows install. I try to access them, but it shows up blank/won't let me use them.

I tried seaching high and low for the right ones, but keep hitting dead ends.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed? i like ubuntu, but i also like having a windows os.

It could be the DVD drive problem.
If you have a 4G flash drive or bigger, you can download and run Windows 7 USB boot drive.
It will create Windows 7 Installation on USB drive. Just boot from USB drive and do the same as DVD but it much faster.
Download it form here Microsoft Store
