I got a new Vaio and am giving my old one to my nephew for Xmas....I went to do a clean install and go back to Vista it came with instead of 7.....I wrote the hard drive to all zeros to clean it completely and I may have screwed up royally!
I have a Recovery Disk Set which I had ordered. And when I start the reinstall from the Disk 1, it keeps asking me for the hard drive drivers....which I can't find. I tried to download off the Sony site but that is an upgrade and a application which it won't accept....I had burned it to a DVD to try it. Then I tired to expand them on my working Vaio but had to stop---I was installing to my new laptop...can't do that!
What do I do?
Thanks in advance....
Todd

It doesn't make any sense that it is asking for drivers like that. First are you sure the recovery disks are for an FZ? When you boot from disk 1, what menu options are available to you and which one are you selecting? Can you take a picture of the error message and upload it, or transcribe the exact wording of the message?

Why back to Vista? Wouldnt XP be a better substitue if you're dismissing windows 7?

I replaced the original vista in my FZ 140E by Windows 7, 32 bit. Windows 7 work much faster than vista. The missing drivers or other issues can be solved following this thread.
