Hi guys. I'm hoping someone far more knowledgeable about laptops than me can help me with installing RAM on the NR120E laptop.
I bought this laptop a month ago and got rid of all the unnecessary crap installed on it. While it now runs pretty well, I want to upgrade the RAM from 1GB to 2GB.
Currently, it has 1014MG RAM, according to the Computer/System Properties. I emailed the Silicon Mountain website and was advised to get this product for the upgrade: http://www.smmdirect.com/1GB_200_Pin_DDR-2_533MHz_(PC2-_P117033C19598.cfm
My questions are:
1) Is this the correct product or do I need to buy a 2GB RAM?
2) Is there more than one RAM slot in the NR12OE?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

For a notebook with that screen size, it should have 2 slots. But the question is, are both of them user accessible. You can look that up in the user manual that you received with the notebook.
As for upgrading, if there are two slots, then you can get 2 x 1GB RAM modules, or you can get 1 x 2GB RAM module. It is all up to you. -
Thanks for the super-fast reply.
With the 2 x 1GB RAM option, can I keep the pre-installed Sony 1GB RAM and then add another 1GB RAM? Or do I have to buy two 1GB RAMs?
Sorry if that's a stupid questions - I have no idea about this stuff! Thanks again. -
You can just get another one.

there are 2 slots that are filled with 512 mb sticks so you will haveto buy 2 new 1 gigers..
