I bought this notebook Sony Vaio VGN-NR230AE here in Brazil and it comes with 1GB RAM, so I bought a 4GB dual channel kit from OCZ, and it don´t accept 4gb, windows vista home premium don´t startup and reboot. with one module (2GB) it start ok, I tested the two module and all ok.
In site of sony here in Brazil it is that support 2GB max, and other model VGN-NR350AE, say support 4GB.
My question is why it don´t accept 4GB, is a problem with BIOS or have some dipswitch to unblock it to accept 4GB.
    Sorry about my english.

    Hello,
your English is fine, nothing to apologize about. :)
    (Not a native speaker myself)

About your RAM - if it says it doesn't support more than 2GB its possibly hardware related. (Wait for more replies)

    There is another aspect though:
A 32 Bit operating system ("standard" Vista, "standard" XP) will only recognize about 3GB. (With Service Pack 1 (SP1) it will recognize 4GB but can only utilize 3GB)
Example: My SZ has 4Gb of RAM, it shows 4GB with SP1 but uses 3GB max

So sadly I don't think you can do a lot...
