I have owned this laptop for 2 months. I don't play video games or watch movies on it, just normal web browsing. After a full charge I only get 1hr 59 min remaining of battery life.

all reviews say average is 3-4 hrs...again, i've never seen it say over 2hr remaining after full charge.

I took it into the sony store and they replaced the battery. this new battery gives me the same result. Is this something i should be concerned about? what are my options at this point?

    thanks for your help!

It has a lot to do with setup.

You'll need some programs such as CPU-Z, orthos, and RMCLOCK. (NHC is easier to use but it didn't work for my sony laptop)

Windows should have settings such as power saver, balanced, high performance for example.
Say your laptop is 2ghz.....open cpu-z and let the laptop idle. If u see it running at 2ghz it might be on high performance. Laptops can save energy by cutting the speed in half...so 1 ghz when it's doing nothing. Then when you do on the PC it will jump back to 2 ghz. That's called dynamic switching or perfmanced on demand...etc.

Laptops are all preconfigured to be set a voltage such as 1.2. The laptops can run at a lower voltage. Lower voltage = less heat and more battery life. So u just set it as low as u can go while it making sure the pc doesn't crash. If it crashes then u just give it more voltage.

What Whr is the battery? If it's under 49, then normal use with not many power management features on, then 2 hours sounds about right.
