    Hello,

I have a VGN-S380 which is havin gstart up problems. This laptop was ruined by my sisters, but am trying to see if i can get it to work just to give it to charity.

When i turn it on the vaio sign appears and then the screen goes black and remains like that and nothing happens. Has anyone encountered this? How do i overcome this?

Also i believe this vaio has a recovery partition built in. How can i do a full recovery? I would hope that this may fix the problem?

    Thanks
