    Sony Vaio VGN-S460 stuck on bios

    Hi
    I was applying arctic silver 5 on cpu heatsink today and disassemble my vaio s460 completely.after putting back everything when i power on it give that vaio sound and blank screen. When press F2 its showing Entering setup.....and stuck there.Could be motherboard or CPU problem or RAM?
    Could some people help me out please

    Check that you put everything together properly and that the heatsink is making good contact with the cpu and that you followed the recommended application process as outlined on the AS5 website. It must be somethiing that you tampered with so just work backwards, if the cpu is not contacting like it should be then the pc will freeze because it gets so hot in such a short period of time.

    I think its over heat thats why it freeze..

    Thanks guys for ur support.Well,i unplugged the cmos battery for a while and resat the heatsink aswell and wow its back to life.Yeah could be due to over heating as i read in many other forums as well.

    Same thing happen again today laptop stuck at entering setup.....did the same procedure again took the cmos battery off and replugged it..laptop working again.
    So do you guys think its due to bios battery wearing out?The laptop's been nearly 5 years now.Due u think its a dying battery?Or something else.
